Sabin Robbins' wide range of converting services includes sheeting, trimming, slitting, and rewinding.  Where we are different is our low minimums and quick turns.  We can provide as little as one skid of a custom size delivered in days not weeks.  Let our converting be your competetive edge!

What can custom size converting do for you?
A lot!

Take the following example:

A printer has an opportunity to produce a job that will go to press in five days, nicely fitting into an open window present in the press schedule. The job calls for 20,000 shts of 80lb #2 Dull Enamel and would be run on 25 x 38-160m. A closer inspection of the job tells the printer that the required working area for the paper is only 21 x 37.

On a longer run, this size could be obtained from the mill. Most mills require a 5,000-pound minimum, although some situations can require 10,000 pounds or more. Whatever the minimum, the other factor is the ability to wait for delivery from the mill. Usually, there is not time available on the quick turn job we are talking about here to have it made at the mill.

So what can Sabin Robbins do?

Sabin Robbins can provide as little as one skid of a custom size, usually converted and delivered in two to four days!

Now do the math:

Buying 20,000 shts of the standard size of 25 x 38-160m from the local merchant means buying a total of 3200 pounds of paper.
At a cost of 60 cents per pound, the printer has spent $1920.00.

Remembering that Sabin Robbins can provide special sizes quickly, on quantities as small as 2000 pounds, our printer calls his Sabin Robbins rep.

Sabin Robbins is able to provide 20,000 shts of comparable #2 dull enamel in the sheet size 21 x 37-131m. The printer is able to buy only 2620 pounds of paper (instead of the 3200 pounds he was going to get from the merchant. That’s 18% fewer pounds of paper).
At Sabin Robbins’ low price of 52 cents per pound, the printer has now filled his paper requirements for only $1362.40.

That is a savings of 29% and it goes straight to the bottom line!
